Thanks for reading, The Mrs would like to go for a drive out tomorrow ( I'm in Newcastle Upon Tyne ) usually 2 to 3 hours each way and was wondering if anyone could suggest a nice little place to visit with Model Train Shop I can just randomly come across while there?
Mrs is from Cardiff originally and only moved up two years ago so all pretty new still up this 'neck' of the woods :)
Any recommendation's be very much appreciated :beers:

York?
Could be very busy but always pleasant to visit. I found Monk Bar Model shop to be a good 'un but it may be worth checking to see if they are open.
Thanks @newportnobby (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=264) I'll check their website :beers:
How about Edinburgh , a little bit further but has www.harburnhobbies.co.uk (http://www.harburnhobbies.co.uk) and https://www.wonderlandmodels.com/ (https://www.wonderlandmodels.com/)
How about visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway? You would have check their website to see if they are open though, but they do have a shop.
Thank you for the advice really appreciate it :beers:

there are a couple of other model shops in York and locally:
http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/county/North%20Yorkshire (http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/county/North%20Yorkshire)
How about north up the coast to Berwick-upon-Tweed?
Lots to see.
I got my 'Deltic' by mail order from a little shop in Morpeth called J&J Models. They seemed really nice people.
www.jandjmodels.co.uk (http://www.jandjmodels.co.uk) will, hopefully, tell you if they are open. I imagine just a little shop but maybe the kind of place that you could 'accidentally' stumble upon!
Best wishes.
John
How about nipping over the Penines to Carlisle? plenty to see, Hadrians wall, shopping and oops! C&M models near the station.. Plus those nice class 37's working the Cumbrian coast line...
Cheers
Mark
Sounds like you have some great destinations to choose from.
Hopefully you can retain a sense of complete surprise as you stumble upon a model shop. :D
No model railway shop, but I'd bet your wife would love Holy Island.
Mine did!

That is not the right way to start a new year . Hope things are not too bad and you are now on the mend.
Sorry to hear that. As dannyboy says, hope you are feeling better.
I can only echo the words of others.

Totally agree, hope you get well soon. Seems we are a load of old crocks on here, me included :-[ :)
I feel old at the minute to be honest, I'm only 32 but this time it's took me out pretty badly :(
