I don't normally post non railway stuff on here, but this is a worthwhile cause.
Its a petition to get our health service to become more aware of cancer in children.
If successful, we might have doctors actually examining children properly
rather than sending them home saying that nothings wrong with them.
To sign the petition, click here: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/to-create-a-greater-awareness-of-childhood-cancers-and.html (http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/to-create-a-greater-awareness-of-childhood-cancers-and.html)
Thank you
p.s. I know some of you chose not to have/haven't got any kids, neither have I,
but I still signed as they are our country's future.
Thanks for posting, Moogle- have signed up

Me too.
About thirteen years ago my wife had breast cancer twice. It's now come back as bone cancer,it's inoperable and there's no cure, all she can do is take a lot of medication to just hopefully hold it in check. There are side effects to the medication but it's better than the alternative.

Signed up - no brainer for me.
Last year my daughter and a team from her company did the Maggies Bike & Hike a 30 mile bike ride followed by a 12 to 42 mile hike, from Fort William to Inverness (depending on your level) and as I am unable to take part I provide the "support team" all the right gear in the right places at the right time, food, drinks, bandaging feet, rubbing down tired muscles etc. Well they are doing it again this year and hope to beat the £15000 they raised last year, and Dr Feet here has been asked to provide support again. So my daughter is going to attempt it again, she only managed bronze (42 miles) last year after coming off the bike twice!
Last year, despite being many less of us on here, the support was wonderful and hopefully you will be able to support the team again this year. I will be starting a thread about it soon, and I have no wish to hijack moogles thread, but it is a timely reminder that cancer affects all age groups and without these petitions, volunteers, fund-raisers and researchers etc, very sadly, still many people we love leave us way too early.
To Eddie & Allan - nothing I can say will alleviate your sadness but believe me when I say, there are people out there doing things that will ultimately go towards providing better care, support networks and a way forward for everyone affected by cancer.
Signed up - no brainer for me either.
