Title: how sad
Post by: Tom U on September 25, 2017, 05:57:14 PM
Sitting in Bangkok airport transit waiting for my connection.  I went to the book store hoping there might be a railway related magazine for in-flight reading.  There were TEN gun magazines (all of the weapon worship variety, not the marksman sport variety) and, you guessed it, NIL railway related.  How sad.

Agreed. The world would be a better place if people made railways not war (on whoever of whatever they shoot at).

I've given up looking for railway magazines and model railway stuff except when I manage to get to Britain, and then not in their airports.

Yeah, you're always going to be hard pushed finding railway magazines at airports.

Up to a year or so ago, I could always find a Railway Modeller at Heathrow when I was flying through. I travel much less these days, so the situation may have changed...

There are always plenty of railway modelling and prototype magazines on sale in WH Smith at Birmingham airport.

Best regards,
