Hi,is it just me ?When I click on my bookmark for the Dapol site I get a page titled Default Parallels Plesk Panel. If I Google Dapol I get 404 not found. But if I select Dapol digest it goes straight there. Now I`m a computer idiot so it`s probably me,but I`m out of ideas.Any help please? Thanks.
I googled Dapol - got Dapol.co.uk and it worked straight away. Might be a corrupt bookmark
:beers:
No,I Googled Dapol directly and still got 404 not found.
Definitely working ok for me using Chrome or Microsoft Edge
:beers:
I`m using Firefox, would that be it perhaps?
Unlikely I would have thought. Have you got another browser you could try?
If you look in your bookmarks can you see what web address you have against Dapol. Should be www.dapol.co.uk (http://www.dapol.co.uk)
Is it the only bookmark that's not working?
:beers:
If you are seeing error 404, then the page you have saved has now been deleted
Delete all the Dapol bookmarks
Close all the browser windows
Enter dapol.co.uk in the address bar, then save that
It`s not just the bookmark. If I Google and select form the results, the only one that works is Dapol digest. All the others get 404.

Once you get to the website through Dapol Digest, have you tried resaving the book mark as mjkerr suggests?
Again - do you know if there are other bookmarks that don't work or other websites you can't access.
It may also be there is a partial outage for your ISP.
:beers:
All other bookmarks are perfect.I`ve deleted the Dapol bookmark and Googled directly.I`ve refreshed Firefox,I,ve got into Dapol digest and clicked on Dapol shop from there and get 404.
Weird - I can't think of any other advice - you'll have to wait for one of those young computer experts to come along with some suggestions.
 :beers:
Thanks for trying anyway.
No problem - at least you can get to the Dapol site through the Digest. Hope you get it resolved soon.
:beers:
Which ISP are you using?
I cannot find any results for
site:dapol.co.uk "Dapol Digest"
Please provide an address that returns Error 404

I'm using BT - Google search comes up with....
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=dapol+digest&oq=dapol+digest&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60l3j0.4559j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=dapol+digest&oq=dapol+digest&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60l3j0.4559j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8)

one of those (not so young) young computer experts here.
Your computer is holding a corrupt or historic address. Websites change their internal structure regularly and certainly Dapol has updated theirs lately. It therefore sounds like a corrupt or out of date cache in your browser.
You need to delete your browser history, not cookies or anything else, as the browser to save effort uses stored last or old searches or web access to provide an address.

The issue can also be due to BT caching low demand files / pages
I have a similar issue with Virgin Media, have to phone them every few months to delete THEIR cache!

ISP caches can give the same problem, however I don't think Dapol is high enough up the demand curve to be treated this way.... Unless there are tens of millions of closest N Gauge modelers. :D
Try using a different browser if it blocks as well its the ISP if it works its the browser cash.
How to delete browser cache please?thanks.

I don't know/use Firefox, however there will be tab or table where you can see the browsing history. Somewhere near there there will be a button offering to delete browser History.
NB I stick to IE and Chrome as they are the best supported for anti malware, but none are perfect.
Thanks to all, especially austinbob. That worked.I`d never have figured that out in a million years. Thanks again, problem solved.
