Post by: Mr Sprue on May 24, 2017, 07:47:05 AM
For anyone looking for software to download youtube videos try this one:  https://clipgrab.org/ (https://clipgrab.org/) Its easy to use and video links can be stacked so it will automatically download your selection. No annoying adverts and best of all its free!

I concur , as they say in "The CrimsonTide", it's easy and foolproof, I downloaded
a few movies using it. Only thing now a lot of movies are degraded when they are
downloaded or else a message come up telling you to buy or hire it.

Clipgrab is particularly good for getting old pop videos like
the Stones or Quo  on TOTP.

Maybe, like many 'freebies' on the web, it comes with a price. :hmmm:

Use YouTube Downloader HD.  It works very well and no spyware.

Just tried to use Youtube Downloader HD and it says I have only 2 more free downloads. Didn't realise there was a cost involved.

Comes up as spyware on a site check...

Hi Paul
I've used this for a while now without a single problem, I scan my pc regually with adwcleaner from bleepingcomputor.com, and it never flags anything up connected to this software. But as you full well know some scanners can be over precautious and give false alarms!

Anyway for what its worth I thought it was a tidy bit of software and maybe someone on here might appreciate it!

Dave

I've used it to see the  Move doing Fire Brigade on TOTP
no problems and also the video about the alien mummy
found in the great Pyramid by the KGB.

I have been using it mainly to download video tutorials of which some are guite long time wise. So to que up the links and be able to carry on doing my work on pc I have this software an asset especially as it's so easy to use.

I can recommend Torch browser. It's a port of Chrome. It has built in audio/video ripping capabilities.

Ah yes, the well known fact that two wrongs make a right! ;)

Not everything on the web is licensed for profit. Not all ripping is theft.

Very true, but in this instance it's a breach of YouTube's T&Cs if nothing else.

Don't need to turn this into a moral crusade, but there's a reason you can't do it natively.

When it comes to moral crusades I think that downloading
TOTP and tutorials hardly compares with YouTube
hosting terrorist uploads , though these get removed
eventually, just a thought.

Hmmm, I think we'll call it quits, I shall continue to ignore their baloney and
download Alvin Stardust, Oasis, Slade etc when I wish, no doubt my choice of
music is regarded by some as a hanging offence ! :D

I bow to no-one in my respect for the late great AS,
even sang "My cooca choo" at a karaoke though
some comments by the pub customers suggested
I go somewhere else.  BTW, I heard that  his
son is headmaster of a public school, must verify.

Here endeth the lesson !

I was at school with a guy (and his older brother) who was well into early Genesis and other prog of the time, while the rest of us were just discovering glam via T. Rex, Slade, etc.  He was a talented keyboard player and, ironically, ended up in Alvin Stardust's band.

A quick google reveals he's now in an outfit called The Road Kings - must check them out sometime.
