Title: Phishing email - claiming to be Amazon
Post by: GroupC on May 22, 2017, 08:14:31 AM
In the last few days I've had 3 emails from "order-update@amazon.com" with the message title "Amazon.com - Your cancellation [followed by a long order number]".

As I haven't ordered anything from Amazon for quite some time and don't have any outstanding orders this can only be a scam of some sort.

If you order from them regularly it may be wise to leave unopened any supposed Amazon emails and instead to log into Amazon to see where your orders actually stand.

Obviously my emails went straight into the bin without being opened. Hotmail had put them into the junk folder anyway, but be on your guard.

Yep, I have two "Amazon: your order successfully cancelled" in my junk mail folder this evening.    Any decent email provider should be filtering these out of your inbox.

Every email I receive from Amazon is from Amazon.co.uk. The only times I've ever had one from a .com address were the few occasions when I've ordered from the Stateside site.
