Post by: Reuben on January 20, 2012, 07:28:25 PM
Hello All,

Does anyone know where i could get a yard crane like the one in this picture:-

http://www.modelenium.co.uk/models/Coles-Argus-6-Ton-Crane-Yellow-NEW--DG226000.aspx (http://www.modelenium.co.uk/models/Coles-Argus-6-Ton-Crane-Yellow-NEW--DG226000.aspx)

Or any ideas as to how i could build one?

Reuben.

Have a look at DM-Toys.  They often have stuff like that.

building one of these is on my todo list.
going to use pg models large aircraft tractor as the base and then scratch build the jib etc.
perhaps basetoys or oxford diecast could be persuaded to make them, i'm sure they'd be good sellers.

Can we petition for one of these as they were common to almost every yard in the late 50's to mid 60's. For our Navy Yard modeller the RN had one in their own livery at Chippenham to handle the traffic for the underground storage depot nearby.
