just got a couple of the new mk.1s, and I see that there are two types of corridor connection blanks, one round topped and one square topped.
can anyone tell me which, if either, would be right to use in the late 1980's, or indeed if they were still used then.
I've seen a couple of pics showing the end carriage of a train at Kyle in around 1988/89 and there is no cover on the end connection.

They went pretty early on. The fancy named trains might have managed them (with crest) for a while but not much else.
