i attended warley show once--2007 0r 8---and caught sight of a very nice welsh themed layout--one with a long viaduct crossing an estuary. i think it won a prize--and Pete Waterman commented on it in a subsequent RM--saying it had an unpronouncable name.
can anyone tell me the name of it ?--better stiill--any photos or a link to a video ?
Was it by any chance 'Dyna Hyfryd' as seen here?
that be the one--many thanks. i even spotted that crosti 9f.

That is impressive.
How big is it?
I'd have to leave Les to give accurate dimensions but my guess would be about 18ft long and 7ft deep

25ft x 10ft, eh?
Well, at least I can't be accused of being a typical male over estimating a size
:hellosign: That's a fabulous layout, when I last saw it they had a number of crosti 9Fs and 9Fs in the shed - marvellous.
What is not so easy to spot are the moving buckets on the over head cable at about 1.10

I was just about to say 'that sounds like the one I saw in Perth', and then I started the video... :-[
Thanks for all the nice comments. the name of the layout is pronounced DUNNA HUVRED but it does look awarkward
in welsh.
It is only booked fof St Andrews in Scotland this year but my new layout LLWYN GRUG (Heather Grove) will be at Preston Exhibition on the 4th & 5th March.

I notice that you chickened out of explaining how to pronounce Llwyn Grug... :D I can't say I blame you - I cannot imagine how to render Llwyn in English! I think my wife would just about manage to pronounce it now, but she has lived here for 40 years! :)

Hi Les. Have you incorporated some z gauge as narrow gauge on the board to the right of the estuary?
Hi LostBoy30A
Yes, narrow gauge (Nn3) which is N gauge, narrow gauge, 3ft. 'Z' gauge track with scratch built stock and loco bodies
and Marklin 'Z' gauge chassis.
Hope this answers your question

The whole thing is brilliant form one end to the other, but that really stood out for me. I've had something of a love affair with Wales ever since two Welsh teachers at our east London school took us to Llangollen when we were about 9-10.
