Had a super Christmas dinner at my younger sister's today, the only problem being I arrived there as a fat sod and came away a very fat sod :food:
As per my standing order to the rellies I now have a nice amount of vouchers for my favourite model railway emporium in Sheffield. Trouble is they came complete with enough chocolate items to put me back in Blackpool hospital! :worried:
Yeah - I know I don't have to consume them but it would be churlish not to
A load of books - nothing railwayish - for a change. My favourite being Terry Gilliam's autobiography.
I got nothing I guess I must have been a naughty boy or something, but if I ever meet the FAT FELLA in the RED suit, I'm going to kick him in the Christmas Puddings. :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:
I got nothing today but I had all the goodies for my winter project, a couple of weeks ago.
Some small items from Oxford Diecast, my favourite film on DVD - Local Hero, some bits and bobs, a suitably crazy Kylo Ren Light Sabre Toothbrush (you have to have one pressy that's just nuts!), and finally a large impetus to go on a diet that will be cunningly disguised as a New Year Resolution. The latter is now an annual event, and as ever will probably end in much the same way as my diary entries did when I was young: started in earnest, gradually fading to illegible one liners and finally blank pages. If I remember rightly the first blank page would be on or about the 12th of January.
Like you Diane, a host of goodies have recently been purchased so Mrs Daffy and I agreed on a no-present Christmas, though family bought the ones I did receive today.

I seem to have been luckier than most: Santa brought me a Dukedog, a Fruit D, and a pack of Easi-Shunt medium-arm couplings. :claphappy: Just got to finish wiring Henllan and I'll be able to start shunting between stations.
Santa aka eBay got me a green class 108 with speed whiskers, it will go with my class 101 also with speed whiskers. Just need to find where the decoders were hidden, I know I had some somewhere

That's what I thought when my wife got it. I told her I could have kept last years tree and sprayed it :D
Got some clothing, a much needed pair of slippers, and a lovely book on Canadian National steam locomotives.
The children got nerf guns, but somehow one of my boys got two. I wonder...?
Absolutely nothing railway related received from my lot this year :(
But a very, very white Christmas in the Rocky Mountains more than makes up for it!
Despite that, I may just have to order that BR Blue Class 33 as a present from yours truly...
Any pics of the mountains, Mike?
I got lots of chocolate, lots of bits for our holiday to Tromso in Feb, some lichen, some grass and a Noch grass shaky thing.
A runny nose, bad cough and aching hips - that's what nine days of working on the Santa Specials gets you. :(
Still, on the plus side, along with the obligatory socks and jumpers I got a nice rechargeable screwdriver.

My wife got me that for my birthday a few weeks ago.
Had a bit of a flick through but not had time to read in any depth.
Same for me really nothing local.
TBH I got very little as usual but had a great day yesterday with family and really I have reasonable health a great family so was very happy.

Hope you got some thermals, Steve. It was a bit chilly when we went there in February. Glorious sunshine, but a bitter wind.
Nothing railway related this year, but I was presented with 2 dozen bottles of Harviestoun Brewery 'Old Engine Oil' which is delicious... And the current Mrs A and I were given a jolly red coffee machine by the younger generation, so we are all happy! :claphappy:
Enjoy your prezzies!

Oh yes - bought thermals just before Christmas. They will be combined with a down jacket, sheepskin insoles, two pairs of gloves, a couple of hats and as many layers as will still let me move around. I have no intention of being cold. :D
The only railway related item I received was a single china clay wagon which goes well with the rake of 3 I already had.
Its my birthday today so Some of my pressies are joint birthday and Christmas.
Mrs PP will be treating me to 3 days in The South East in the Spring where we well visit the RH&D railway.
I also received two very nice Scottish Single Malts to add to my fairly large collection. Those two new ones will be sampled later.
And we also received one of those rather nice red espresso machines which I am now getting to grips with.
Many happy returns @port perran (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=230)
The missus hired a handyman to come and clear out more of the basement, so that I can expand my layout.
She also got me a box of Flexitrack and a load of points, and crossovers, etc.
No I just need some baseboards for my birthday!

I really got spoiled........a bunch of Metcalfe buildings to replace the ones damaged in the flood......a Manor Class and a Hall Class as well as a Deltic "Pinza" in BR Green...and to top it off an assortment of wagons!!!
:bounce:
Santa brought me nothing :'(
So to make up for it, I've bought myself a few pressies in the past few days - 5 NGS bogie bolster kits (wanted some for a while, and they've just come back into stock so it would have been rude not to), a Farish 2MT in green, and a few wagons.
Currently trying to resist the urge to buy more Mk1s too.... :-[

:laughabovepost: I need one of those for work.
I got: bottle of Yellow Spot whiskey; Graham Farish, WD Austerity 2-8-0 Longmoor Military Railway pack; Reeses chocolate selection; several wagons, including three TMC weathered PCA/TTAs; more chocolates; some card kits; restaurant voucher; R2-D2 etch kit; wine; even more chocolates (I like chocolates!).
But best of all, I got the joy of watching the people most dear to me opening their presents. And I got (and for a few days yet still get,) to spend rare and cherished time with those same people.

Which malts, PP? Just finished my St Stephen's Day glass of Port Charlotte (another excuse for a "Laddie" but nearly as good as Infinity). Santa brought me another Glenmorangie special - Quinta Ruban - matured in a port cask.
Mrs B gave me a class 33 which has now been run in for the obligatory hour and chipped. It's a wonderful model. Just needs drivers and head codes fitted with some weathering. Also got a Farish bogie bolster. Again; what a wonderful model. I know we all concentrate on the locomotives but the wagons are now absolutely great as well. Friends around yesterday so a good Christmas all round.
Had some lovely gifts, including this book to complete my set. Going to relax and have a good look through it later.

I didn't do too bad, got some vouchers for my local model shop which I'm sure will be put to good use and an airbrush/compressor/paints; and for my mid life crisis birthday just after xmas I got a day driving steam trains which I can't wait to do.
Midlife crisis or not, Driving Steam Train's Ah you lucky so & so :beers:
Mainly non-railway stuff, but I did get a green, speed-whiskered class 108. I'd spotted it on Ebay and suggested my wife should get it for me. Good price too - possibly as it was wrongly put in the OO section, so not too many bids.
It was advertised as having a good motor, but running roughly on the track, so I assumed pick-ups or a split gear. However, testing it on a loop of track the other day (I am over in Ireland for Christmas, so only have a circle of set-track with me for testing) it ran perfectly at any speed from a crawl to flat out. The only thing I can find wrong is a missing coupling, so I am very happy.

And as to that I doubt it, none of them went through the ebay global shipping program before getting to me, it seems to go out of its way to make the shipping process as long and costly as possible, on one thing i ordered it went through five separate carriers according to the tracking details! That said I did get an interesting look from the security at Gatwick when they asked what was in the carry on bag and I pulled that farish A1 North Eastern thats in the pic out of it. Never trust your fragile purchases to Air Canada checked baggage... although the scotch came through all right :beers:.
Fitting rooms should be removed speeds up the whole process lol. Five carriers is totally ridiculous guess that might be a bonus in living in a small country :)
I would have done exactly the same thing clothes are for the suitcase, Ngauge in the carry on :beers:

Hope you get something for the Chinese New Year at the end of the month.
