Another rocker gone in 2016.
Never my cup of tea -I saw them one in early 70s and my ears have never been the same.
Nevertheless a sad passing.

I have no idea who he was (genuinely) but it's always sad when someone dies, especially at this time of the year.

Apologies, I missed out that he was guitarist with Status Quo.
Had them rock in' all of the world throughout my life. Sad end to a full life. He was due to release a solo album in 2017 after ceasing touring with Status Quo following a heart attack. His death was a result of a severe infection following a shoulder injury.
R.I.P.
Really sad news especially as he was only 68 :(
So sorry to hear this. I saw Quo once in Northampton in the 70s and have always considered them the masters of prehistoric rock.
Sleep well, Rick :goodbye:
see ya ric, hopefully it'll be a while before were along to do another support slot for ya

Another sad day in 2016.
There is never a good time of year to loose somebody but Christmas will now hold sadness for his wife and children for years to come.
Hope you rest in peace Rick and thanks for the music.
Steve
Keep on rockin' Rick....WHEREVER YOU ARE!

The County ground the Cobblers and the cricket team shared at the time had a function room they put bands on every Saturday night so Quo, Medicine Head, ELO, Barclay James Harvest were just some of the groups I saw there.

My musical tastes are more George Formby, Vera Lynn and Glenn Miiler, which probably explains why Mr Parfitt is unknown to me.

ah yea knew it well, just round from bingleys? camping shop, never realised they put gigs on there, was alays a school in spinny hill or the roadmender were we saw bands
Rip Rick. The band actually advertised a supermarket chain here in Australia until quite recently.
Thanks for all the fun Rick... You did good.
Wot a crappy year its been with all these big celebrity names "kicking the bucket", GOD! ins't it bl00dy depressing.
Many years ago a life insurance guy trying to sell me assurance said " Life is like standing in a long queue at a bus stop waiting for that bus to come along, at the moment your young so the queue is very long, you stretch up to try and focus where the bus stop actually is but the queue is so long and you cannot see it. However each bus that comes by and stops, more people get on the bus the queue shortens every time and shuffles up, without realising it you are getting closer and closer to that bus stop until one day you suddenly see it!"
An Amazing description how life is so short, but very much to the point how life can pass by and take you by surprise, so live each day as your last.... I bet Rick did!
RIP Rick

A sad loss. I cut my guitar teeth on Quo songs.
