Title: Farish J 94 tank
Post by: BramptonBranch on December 13, 2016, 08:14:39 PM
I have noticed in the past there seems to be two distinct versions with the saddle tank further back from the smokebox front on some models.
I have both versions on the Poole NCB version is one an older model?
Cheers guys!

No, there has only been one version. The smokebox is a separate moulding, so if it's forward ahead of the tanks, rather than flush with them, it means the loco has been taken apart and not put back together correctly. It's a good way of seeing if the J94 has been meddled with in the past.

It can't slide out on its own either as it is retained by lips on the chassis.

Cheers,
Alan

Thanks for the info appreciated!
Have a  few J94s but only one like that, but there's one on eBay, "Robert" which appears different which made me wonder.

Cheers
