a BR Blue Class 33 with 'proper' numbers - in other words a D65XX. Doesn't seem much to ask for since the models exist but with 33XXX numbers on them :unimpressed:.
I was wondering what others wanted in their Christmas stocking (please keep it clean ;) relevant to our world of N Gauge and realistic).
Anew credit card, mine's worn out with buying too many locos this year.
...GF to get their Class 40 done.
...for a manufacturer to do some 1970's - 1980's road vehicles.
...a new run of the GF Mk2a coaches
...for things that are here now, some more blue/grey Class 108s wouldn't go amiss.
Whatever goes on my list I'll have to buy myself anyway though.
Liz Hurley.
Preferably in her own Christmas stockings as mine are badly laddered.

Not much then :D
Actually a few plain blue DMUs with a W prefix would be fairly high on my wish list too.
I want......... a 3F, a Princess, a Garratt, a G2, a Prince of Wales, and that's before I mention rolling stock
What I would like from Santa this year would be a Graham farish Ivatt class 2mt in B.R. Green had my eye on one for a while but don't think the current mrs M will be getting me one as she's not long got me the Noch advent calendar.
A streamlined LMS Coronation Princess (red).
Personally it has to be the Gresley Full Brake kit being back in stock with the NGS shop.......my Thompson BG is a bit lonely!
A DCC ready Class 08 in green, (got my eye on one :)).
A class 92! So whilst it may be delayed, it appears I'm in luck!
A winning lottery ticket so I can buy all the stock on my to buy list its only 4 pages so not a lot :-[
A new car would be nice plus the money to run it , but that's only a dream.
But I would settle for a new IPad or a laptop with DVD player built in .
I've had my fair share of railway stuff for this year. Mustn't be to greedy .
Bob
The health and energy to build my layout next year would be nice, but failing that a ticket for two to Switzerland to ride their glorious rail lines.
My funds this year (mother sends money, this is a good arrangement!) are allocated to one 92 and mother in law to be had said she will fund another.
I should in theory have change from mumsy cheque to get myself some more delights, but somehow the rest of the money is now allocated to new sofa covers?! How did that happen? :hmmm:
This is of course still a very nice pair of presents for me, and I am grateful.
However, I am going to add the NSE Capital Connection set to me list, just to see if Santa can do his bit :D ;D :smiley-laughing:
Skyline2uk
... a bit of time to actually work on my layout... :(
Chris
Also Farish to finally release the 350 as a SWT 450, Please.....pretty please?

OK Bob, but I did ask for the wishlist to be kept both realistic and model railway related
Ok but in actual fact my wish list has come true the FAMILY have bought me Two Dukedogs one BR Black and one Great Western they have been extensively tested and had the chimney cowls safety domes and whistles painted by Snowwolflair and are now wrapped up and hidden out of site untill Christmas so allthough I wanted to get my mate to help me put photos on here I can't now because I don't even know where they are.
Snowwolflair also painted the two Dean Goods that the Family bought for me last year but unfortunatly the Pendolino that they all paid for two years ago has been delayed for a very good reason I hasten to add ,so I can open that and run it as soon as it arrives . As you can tell I am a a RULE ONE MAN .
Bob
Rule one all the way Bob run what you want when you want ;)

All I really want is a cosy Xmas dinner with the Mrs and a snuggle on the sofa watching some crap on telly, and a Skype with my kids in the UK.
The icing on my cake is that Liz will be buying my Railway Honour "Patriot".

I'd be very excited to get my grey valanced A4 Silver Fox to go with my valanced 4468 blue Mallard and grey unvalenced Silver Link.
But the best N gauge pressie would be the news that Rapido will shrink their APT-E! Even a dummy Shapeways print out would do for my humble expectations @jasonshron #ngaugeaptepleeeeez :D
Other than that, there's a list of pre-orders as long as my arm!
I wish for a class 08 sound decoder, a j39 sound decoder and a britannia sound decoder. I will settle for a pair of socks. :D
No, Ian... not the socks! Worst Xmas ever!
Hold out at least for an N gauge wagon! :NGaugersRule:

I quite fancy some Bolster wagons, so if I ask Santa for three Landship packs is that being greedy??? :hmmm: :hmmm:

Ah, but it's only deja-vu for those who were here last year, and the year before and the year before...for new comers and recent returners like me its all new! :)
My model railway Christmas wish list this year is all G scale as I have all the stock I need for my two N gauge layouts. I am quite strict with myself and only have stock that fits my era and location. I'm even thinking of selling a few surplus items. I have ordered a Christmas present to myself for one of my N gauge layouts - a thunder storm.

The delivery of the baggage car in the Rapido Royal Hudson coach set and/or the delivery of the Intermountain SD40-2s. The former has been on order since 27 August 2008 and the latter since 12 June 2014. I'm not expecting this to happen for Xmas 2016 but I'm living in hope that I will see the delivery of these items by Xmas 2017 or by the Christmas after that. Yes, this is the same Rapido that is producing the Pendolino and yes, it is now over 8 years since ordering.

Even I know what a Western is, its a Film with somebody who has a limp from riding a horse all day, and calls people pilgrim, and shoots the bad guy who always wears black, and his horse is called Dobbin. :P
Webbo, Rapido have to get the most important things produced first ,REVOLUTION PRODUCTS
MUST TAKE PRIORITY .
That is why they managed to get the Tanks out so quick, and they are so busy getting the couplings on the Pendolino sorted out for us .
Only joking there must be a good reason for the holdup of whatever it is your waiting for ,why not drop Jason Shron a message he is usually very good at answering messages . Now that Rapido own two factories of their own it might mean your things will get done but it is very annoying when firms make a rake of coaches but miss out one important type of coach that completes the train formation.
Bob
Thanks Bob
The reason given by Mike at Rapido (who sadly is no longer with us) is that there have not enough orders for the baggage car to be sold individually in other road names for it to be produced. My answer is that I ordered a set and Rapido should not have accepted orders for the set unless they were prepared to complete it. Apparently, it is imminent although as George recommends, I'm not holding my breath. Rapido do produce excellent stuff so those holding Pendolino orders are in for a treat sometime.
Ah WP, I suspected I might strike a nerve with my response. Westerns are one of my two favourite genres of movies - up there with good SF. So a loco type named after a great film type must be OK.

Well, the first Western was named 'Enterprise' so I guess it was a mixture of cowboy film and Star Trek, with Maybach engines - what a GREAT THREESOME!

It's a Xmas thread, so I'm happy going off topic.
Did you know Space Shuttle OV-101 was actually named Enterprise after the USS Enterprise in Star Trek, and the cast of Star Trek were honoured guests at the rollout?
Enterprise was never actually refitted for space flight after the original landing tests (off the back of that 747) were complete, so was never actually a spaceship. Instead they refitted OV-099 Challenger.
Does it stay on topic if I talk about wanting to spend some of Xmas building my N-scale Challenger-on-the-Launchpad?

At the risk of bringing down George's wrath upon me, here is some further info on space shuttle names. They are named after exploration/research ships from the previous 250 years with the exception of the USS Enterprise as outlined by Mustermark. HMS Endeavour (UK) was James Cook's ship. RRS Discovery (UK) was Scott's ship to the Antarctic, HMS Challenger (UK) undertook a major oceanographic research expedition in the mid-nineteenth century, RV Atlantis (US) belonged to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in the mid-twentieth century, Columbia (US) was the first US ship to circumnavigate the globe near the end of the eighteenth century, but was also the name of the command module for the Apollo 11 lunar landing. USS Columbia (NX-02) will be the second NX class starship and is named after shuttle Columbia.

I have autographed copies of Gene Cernan's The Last Man on the Moon and Jim Lovell's Apollo 13. :D
Also, Gunther Wendt's autobiography The Unbroken Chain has photos of the Enterprise rollout and the cast of Star Trek, as he was involved with the shuttle programme in those days.

Me too! Cernan and Lovell have signed a few books in their time, I think... if you can find an unsigned one they're worth a fortune (joke... anyone seen Notting Hill?).
Webbo... so many Americans think NASA spelt Endeavour wrong!
As well as Columbia for Apollo 11 CSM, they had Endeavour for Apollo 15 CSM and Challenger for Apollo 17 LM.
Back on topic for George :D , and his wonderfully Xmas themed thread... I also have an Airfix model of an Apollo rocket in N-scale... and I would like nothing more that to be launched into space for Xmas!!! Tenuous, but true.
p.s. I just spent two freakin' hours putting lights up on our front porch. It doesn't get any freakin' Xmassy than that! Two hours of my life I won't get back...! But it will be worth it just to see the smile on Liz's face when she gets home from Belgium on Friday.

A decision on what space I'm going to be allocated for my layout table top toy trains.
Just over two years ago, when I was still working as an FGW "Train Manager" (Guard, in English) I was sitting in the cabin at Reading being taken to task by an old, hard bitten Driver for reading what he called "a toy train book" but we would know as the Hornby Magazine.
I showed him some pictures in it, which he refused to believe were models, until I pointed out a coupling. He realised then that the world of model railways was no longer the oval track and a siding of his youth.
