Not much chance of seeing it in Ireland - where I am it is raining, so all I have got is clouds!

Yeah, we had it here too last night. It was cloudy, and there was something better on telly anyway.  :D

Good pics, though Croxy

By the time the clouds cleared here in Canberra, it was 8:30 pm and I was comfortably ensconced in front of the TV at that time and had forgotten all about it. I saw it the night before and it looked huge even then.

Great photos.
Sadly all we had in Cornwall was thick cloud.

Due to heavy cloud I had to provide my own super moon, luckily the police let me off with a caution.

Nice clear view of it here in Philadelphia. I went out into the street to take a look and was standing in the middle of the road staring at it when one of my neighbors walked by. She asked me what I was up to and when I told her she started howling at the super moon. I went back inside and my wife asked what all that screaming was, needless to say the truth was not seen as a reasonable answer!

I'm sure that Canadian moon is bigger than our English one. :worried:

Excellent pics btw.

I have a Cannon that will go up to 1200mm......it's not a DSLR thought just a 50X Optical Zoom.......takes some nice photos and I don't have to have all sorts of different lenses.....

Yeah, I know what you mean..... I have a DSLR with a gadget bag and a couple of lenses. The last trips to NZ and Tasmania, I took it along but found it such a pain to log around, I ended up taking all the pics on me phone!

No supermoon out by me that night.  Cloud cover must have been too thick though there was a great shot from an Invernesian on BBC.  Pics I've seen look underwhelming to be honest.  I've old negatives buried somewhwere with absolutely ma-hoosive moons in weird colours (atmospheric circumstances I guess).

But the next night we had a clear sky.  The moon was quite small though I'd say compared to normal?  But the clarity was abolutely mind blowing -I have never seen the surface in such clarity before and the contrast on the surface was so much the detail was immense.  That's not using any binoculars or telescopes -the detail was pin-sharp just looking up.  Afraid I never got any shots though

The moon often tracks across my living room window and shines through the closed blinds so I'm often aware it's there, just sods law when it's doing something special the clouds are blocking it!!!
