Title: N Gauge Matrimonials ?
Post by: joe cassidy on November 10, 2016, 07:07:14 PM
It strikes me that there are quite a few single people on this forum (such as me), some of whom might like to find a partner but who are put off computer dating etc. because for many single people who are not into model railways sharing their life with a partner AND a model railway is a deal breaker.

Would it be possible to create a place in the forum a bit like the N'porium where those members who are "up for grabs" could manifeste themselves ? Other members could then reply by private e-mail, either on their own behalf or on behalf of someone they know who is train-friendly and looking for a partner.

Yours romantically,

Cupid

Maybe a new website....  NGauge.Love? :D

We'll see if this appeals to many members, or if just having this thread does the trick for you.  I can certainly see where you are coming from, as I 'met' my wife through Goth.net many years ago, then forced her into liking railways!!!   :heart2: :smiley-laughing:

Clare and I met in a car club, easy way to get someone who's into Transport already and doesn't need 'converting' ;)

I just have the perfect wife - honestly - and she is happy to support me in what I do though she is not 'in to trains'  as such.

But if any Forum section or thread can bring together two people to have what we have, then let's welcome it with open hearts.

May love find you Joe.

Having got 2 ex's from dating sites I'd give it the 'Roly Poly's sleeping compartment' i.e. a wide berth :worried:

When I was 14, I hoped one day that I would have a girlfriend.

When I was 16, I got a girlfriend, but there was no passion, so I decided I needed a passionate girl with a zest for life.

In college I dated a passionate girl but she was too emotional.

Every thing was an Emergency; she was a drama queen, cried all the time and threatened suicide. So I decided I needed a girl with stability.

When I was 25, I found a very stable girl but she was boring. She was totally predictable and never got exited about anything. Life became so dull that I decided that I needed a girl with some excitement.

When I was 30, I found an exciting girl, but I couldn't keep up with her. She rushed around from one thing to another, never settling on anything. She did mad impetuous things and made me miserable as often as happy.

So I decided that I needed to find a girl with some real ambition.

When I was 33, I found a smart and ambitious girl with her feet planted firmly on the ground and married her. She was so ambitious that she divorced me and took everything that I owned.

Now I'm 40 and looking for a girl with Big :censored: .................

Going back to the original theme, for all the other lonely hearts out there, I met a very nice lady today via the dating site Parship.

Parship is based in Germany - I don't know if they operate in the UK, Australia, NZ, US etc.

It works well for the first date - after that you're on own.

If things work out you're all invited to the wedding.

Best regards,

Smitten
P.S.I'm not a shareholder/owner of Parship

I forgot to mention - thankfully she didn't ask me about my hobbies  :)

Best regards,

Joe

I've got 2 of them as well, but I got mine through 'work' sites. I got my third through a 'work' site as well......... :hmmm:. However, I must admit, having been together for 18 years now, we are both quite happy, (well I am anyway  ;)).

After splitting up with my first wife (who was into model railways) I went onto Parship, and met a very nice lady, who was quite happy with my hobbies, and does even like visiting railway museums and preserved railways! She is not much of a model railway fan, but does accompany me to shows on occasions. She likes the scenery more than the engineering and the trains, and wants to help with my layout when it gets going.

About 18 months ago, we were at a show, and I had found a rather expensive loco - a Fleischmann 2-10-0 which came with a sheet of alternative markings, including one for the PKP! Trouble is, it was over £100...  :( I was 'umming' and 'ahhing' over it when she walked over from the layout she was taking pictures of, so I explained my predicament...  "Well if you are unlikely to get it anywhere else, put it on the credit card and worry about paying for it later - that is what they are for!"  :o

...I married her three weeks ago - so Parship can work!  :D

I've been with my second wife for almost 30 years and never suspected she was two-timing me!  She must be, for the lady you are describing is her to a 'T'. :D

Paul, you and I are two of the luckiest men on the planet.

Now, where's that Credit Card............? >:D

Keep up the good work

I kept my latent interest in railway things fairly well hidden from Mrs Railsquid (there was a prior occupant of the role but We Do Not Talk About That), but as it turns out I can blame her for my descent into N gauge.

It's OK to have a laugh at our expense but don't forget that some of our members are ladies.
