Hi

It's a nice plan that one loads of scope for freight only operations. I think the Cobra terminal was mainly involved with steel traffic

I was just thinking about steel on it if I built it!!!
Or really running it as a general freight yard - transhipping fuel/cement onto trucks etc...

Hi

I would say in the modern era cement and fuel would be loaded direct to lineside silos or tanks then loaded into road transport. Silos and tanks can easily be modelled and there are lots of suitable road vehicles available.

If you do go for rail to road bagged cement maybe a good one for your layout pallets sacks and forklifts are all you would need!

The Blue Circle Oxwellmains to Aberdeen runs with a couple of Cargowagons in the consist for bagged cement. For such a small yard, you could have those wagons tripped from the main cement discharge site.......

Hi, came across the track plan and thought it would make a good project. Have you finished yours, yet? Hoping to finish mine in about a month. Cheers, Jim L
