Looking forward to November 5th when my wife and myself, together with another couple we know, board the Northern Belle for an evening round trip from Leeds.
We have been before but not when the dress code has been "Black Tie" so just been to get measured up for a hire suit.
Whilst we will not be able to see much as it will be dark when we set off I am just looking forward to a damn good meal and a bit of champers and an all round good time.
Enjoy! :beers:
Northern Belle?! Lend us a tenner!
Enjoy it though, it always looks great when I see it from the pauper's side of the window. Where does the round trip go? I think a recent one went to Newark. Not that it makes much difference when you're being spoiled rotten of course!
Just watched the promo video.
Sure looks like you'll remember, remember the 5th of November for a long, long time.
Have a great evening! :food:
Cheers, I am really looking forward to it.
As for lending GroupC a tenner I can do when I pay back everybody I had to borrow from to go in the first place :D
On a serious note I agree it's expensive and over-priced, but in our opinion is a real experience. We, as fellow paupers, can only experience once in a while, and we love it.
As I said we have been twice before and for sure they are people on board that are well known by the staff and I guess are fairly regular travelers. But as it is not the norm for us I am sure we get far more out of it and appreciate the service far more.
As regards where it goes I have no idea. I think it starts in Leeds and then it picks up in York. Then dropping off first in Leeds and lastly in York. So whether it heads up towards Newcastle or turns round at York I have no idea.
You're off to Ribblehead!

Damn thing goes through Skipton - could have saved the train fair to Leeds
If I'm around I'll dress up in my street urchin outfit and wave mournfully at you as you go through York.
By the way, they do bring you back from Ribblehead, in case you were worried:
