Just heard of the passing of Gene Wilder at 83. I forever remember him as the spooky Willy Wonka (the 1971 film being superior in every aspect to the pathetic remake with Johnny Depp).
However he was in lots of successful movies, even including a one about a train; The Silver Streak, which crashes spectacularly into the terminus station at the end.
Cannot beat fuzzy wazzie was a bear for me ( hear no evil see no evil )
Not forgetting Blazing Saddles, Stir Crazy and The Producers among many others
RIP to a VERY funny man, and by all accounts a very nice man too.

Yeah, Blazing Saddles is a bit dated now, but it was a classic in it's day.
Also in Young Frankenstein pronounced "Fronkenstein"
Another classic. They've just shown a clip on network news here.
R.I.P.....Frankenstin

My favourite.
A very quiet, unassuming bloke with a touch of the comic genius about him. RIP, Gene :(
Hopefully some of these classics may get a screening again.
Another of the comedy greats gone....
Thanks for the smiles and the laughs Mr Wilder. A life well lived.
I was very envious of his attempted romp with Kelly LeBrock in "Woman in Red". RIP GW.
