Title: Ballast spreaders
Post by: trkilliman on July 04, 2016, 08:49:07 AM
I am interested to hear opinions on these. Having always used the age old method of sprinkling, shaping and gluing, I am intrigued by these newish products. There are some cheapish ones around and some that are a fair bit more expensive.

Can anyone advise please?

if that spreader idea could be adapted into a ballast wagon you could play trains whilst getting on with the job , it would relieve the boredom  :)

i wasn't that impressed with the one i got - i still ended up moving the ballast around with a paint brush for ages to get it arranged how i wanted

I used a prose spreader but to be honest found it quicker to sprinkle by hand as less is best when ballasting !

I had the exact same experience, tried it once and put it back in the box where it has stayed ever since :(

I used the best ballast-spreader available, it was free too :)

It's called a "finger" :D
