Title: R.I.P. Caroline Aherne

Caroline was a troubled spirit but was hugely influential in the comedy world. I'm sure many of us remember 'The Royle Family', 'The Fast Show' and 'Mrs. Merton'

A very sad loss :(

I was shocked to hear of her death.

I thought the Mrs Merton Show was so funny with her asking the questions no one else would.

She knew she wasn't in for a long life due to her genetic problem causing various cancers from an early age, I'd imagine that would have contributed to her depressive illness too  :(

RIP Caroline, you made us laugh, and for that we thank you.

I remember the original appearances of "Mrs Merton" on Late-night Radio (Martin Kelner's shows) in the late 1980s. Very funny and different. Sometimes subtle sometimes not so subtle, but never offensive as many so-called comedians of the time were...
