Watch the England men's team attempt to play football, I mean.
It's not as if I watch footie anyway apart from the World Cup so why I bothered tonight I haven't the foggiest. ::)
I'm a big football fan but that was disgraceful.
Overpaid, unfit, clueless, no passion, terrified, no brainpower, no idea and a manager that has no clue, no plan and no passion.
Come on Wales.
Totally agree, that was the WORST performance I have ever had the misfortune of sitting through, and I am a Plymouth Argyle fan!!
They were clueless, understatement of the night was when the commentator said' just could not get the touch'!!
Sack them all!!!!
Simon
I have to say I am definitely not a football fan. Especially when they cancel my favourite TV progs to show the matches. Why can't they show football on other channels which generally show rubbish instead of ruining my regular viewing.
Now... Just remind me.. Football is the game where they have two stumps a long way apart and cricket has three stumps close together - or is it the other way round??
:hmmm: :)
I think England showed the way for Spain tonight. Lost 1-0 to Italy. Give me a spherical ball anytime. :)

You are absolutely correct, but unfortunately they are not far enough apart for our lads !
Nice one Steve. Where is Iceland anyway?
:)
Dunno where yours is but our one is in the shopping centre opposite Argos :D

Now. That was funny.. But does your Iceland have enough staff to make a football team?
Maybe not, but they'd still probably do better ;)
Paul
Apparently Joe Hart went to Iceland ..... but he didn't save anything. Wants a rematch with Lidl or Co-op ......
I phone my wife from work just after 10 and asked her how the game had gone. She told me the score and said that, even though she was on her own, (apart from the cats and dogs), she was embarrassed watching the match, so I am guessing England did not play very well ???. Or were England 'frozen' out by Iceland?
Not exactly "Three Cod Wars and One European Cup" then?
England , as the old chant goes "you're just Scotland in disguise!"
I just wish I had not watched it a waste of time again, just has I was beginning to think Hodgson had some idea.
I'm still English, but I must admit I watched from my distant vantage point with a weird degree of smugness.
Embarrassing.
Thank goodness I am visiting Singapore for work. No Euro2016 on TV and no stress :claphappy:
I was working at factory during my match ( Italy-Spain) and I did understand the score hearing two times dis-human screams coming from the other job areas...especially offices :D
Marco
You could always follow the England Women's Football team - the Lionesses are doing rather well atm . Beat Serbia 7-0 away
I think we should have a parade for them when they get back, just remember to bring the rotten veg to throw at the useless :censored: :censored:
You've only got to look at the demeanour of the managers in the Italy v Spain game and the England v Iceland match.
The Italian guy was either extremely excited or on something whereas the Spanish chap seemed content to just sit in the dugout.
Hodgson has never been particularly animated as I just don't believe there's any 'fire' inside him and this seems to blanket the whole team. He's done the right thing is walking before being kicked out but Lord only knows who we'll end up with next. Perhaps we should sign that Italian chap :hmmm:
The Italian chap (Conte) is nuts (no offence Marco!) and has already gone to Chelsea...
It was all terrible and unfortunately entirely predictable - to concede within 2 mins of scoring the penalty from the most obvious set play that everyone knew Iceland did was unforgiveable.
Still at least the England rugby team thrashed the Aussies 3-0 in the series. I say Eddie Jones for England manager and James Haskell for captain - of the football team of course :D
:P >:D :P ;)

Hi Red,
Don't worry....no offence..I understand..
I think for our italian coaches the Premiere League experience is most important..it's a totally different atmosphere..in and out of the game field..
Cheers
Marco (not Van Basten :D)
Some of you may remember Rooney already has form in getting us out of international competitions......

Never cared so little about the useless "sportsman" in my life.
Does anybody know if our travelling circus (probably cruel to circuses actually) of fans behaved themselves afterwards?

You know, I can remember when football was a game, not just another media event.

Only that they've boycotted Iceland and gone to Farm Foods instead. ;)
That video of Steve Maclarens face as he watches the second goal go in is a belter.
I heard that they got a 2 for 1 deal at Iceland!
Sorry for that!

Why does anyone watch the stupid game we may have invented it but we have not been good enough at it for 50 years. it is 25 overpaid yobs chasing a plastic bag full of wind around a field.

That's almost exactly my response when people with shocked faces ask why I don't like football

Roy Hodgson was paid £3m a year and won sweet FA, I'll equal his
record for £300,000 a year...... ;D

I'll do it for 10% less and improve on his record.

Come on Wales !
It's a fact that since 1966, England have won only six games in final tournaments.
Now call an old sceptic, but that tells me it's not all down to the manager and players

Iceland have put in place a 12 year plan to develop football in their country. It included putting heated pitches near to schools (as in England playing fields are being ripped up) and they have 1 top coach to every 825 Icelanders compared to 1 coach in 11,000 for England.

So sorry, Marco, but in all honesty I have never seen both teams struggle with penalties like that
England, yes, but Germany and Italy, no.

It was actually quite comical, and could have gone on longer if Buffon hadn't managed to dive over the last one.
