That's fantastic
I thought I over spend but mine is worth peanuts compared to his. Just hope the article doesn't attract the crims to his garden and shed :worried:

Well, that's certainly something!  :o :o :o

Likewise however, I fear that such articles can be an advertisement to the criminal elements. Hope the guy has it all decently secured, would hate to see a sad follow up story!

This was on the Channel 4 TV show 'Amazing Sheds' a couple of weeks ago. Should still be available on catch-up if you want to watch it.

Edit: It's HERE (http://www.channel4.com/programmes/amazing-spaces-shed-of-the-year/on-demand/62942-005). Available until 3rd July.

I have to agree. Stretching reality a bit (wrong locos for a given area, etc), is one thing, but mixing and matching things which could never have appeared together because they didn't exist at the same time is taking it a bit too far...

It's also far too crowded - a good layout is close to an approximation of reality; this just looks like an attempt to cram in as many trains, road vehicles and buildings as possible.

That's nothing compared to what I could do in N with that budget and a couple of decades ;)

In one of the pictures there is a Jeep which has a truck right in its bumper and a bus right in front of it.

Too much going on, makes my eyes hurt

It's not what I'd do with the space and the time but an accurate scale model in that shed would just be one station, a bit of town and miles and miles of fields.  He had to do something to make it more interesting.

I'm just be grateful that we don't all like the same thing.  Otherwise imagine how jealous we'd all be!  ;D

Good for him, if it makes him happy then it doesn't matter in the slightest if it's realistic or not.

Wrong scale!
That space in N...  a shame to see that huge amount of money and space wasted in oversize stuff!

Ok not for me but then again neither are steam engines!
But fair play to the guy, it makes him happy so its done its job a he end of the day its what a hobby is meant to do!

My only thought is he could have done so much more in N gauge and with that budget!!

This guy might have pulled off the impossible, following his hobby AND pleasing the missus!

It may be inaccurate in so many ways but that shouldn't detract from the fact that the guy has a layout which is finished/expanding (they're never truly finished!) which is more than I can say for the super accurate, period specific micro layout languishing on my shelf half built!

Yep, he's just having fun and that's the name of the game.
