Hi all first its great to be back ,
i have a farish bachmann era , class 50 . however this no longer fits my modeling , it the chassis the same as the same era deltic?
Many thanks
James
It is identical apart from the fuel tanks - these could be swapped over to a Deltic one though (assuming you can get that spare).
Note, this chassis will not fit the new-tool Deltics, or DP1 - they have a completely different chassis. Will fit all the split chassis and Poole era bodies though.
HTH,
Alan
Thanks Alan , yes ready for my new east coast pre tops layout i think a 50 looks out of place lol , now to find a set of fuel tanks and a body .

If you're doing pre-TOPS, the Class 50 body might be a relatively easy project for back-dating. I've tried this using some detailing etched brass parts from BH Enterprises plus a bit of basic filing (to remove the jumper cables, absent from only some D400s) and filling (to fill up the headlight, absent from all, pre-refurbishment). In theory you'd want to do something with the headcode box too, and you can get some etched brass bits from BHE for that as well.
I do realise the D400s were mostly working on the LMR at that point, but during their trials they did get about a bit.
Cheers, NeMo
