Title: Dapol ND-073F Dummy Super Voyager
Post by: Vonzack on April 15, 2016, 12:22:04 PM
Hi,

I recently bought a Dapol Dummy Super Voyager (ND-073F) and it doesn't seem to have any lighting in the driving cars. Not a big deal, but I'd like to know if this is how they were originally sold?

Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark,

I can't help with the Super Voyager but BR Lines (http://brlines.co.uk/other-products) sell the lighting modules for the Voyager which may fit:

LED Module with fiber optic light guide: NDS00V0-L
Decoder socket with connector for LED module: NDS00V0-LB

Alternatively, buy some LEDs and fibre optic off eBay.

Happy modelling.

Don't know on the Voyager, but it seems hit and miss with Dapol - the dummy 86s do, but the 67 and 66 don't.

The dummy voyager doesn't have lights in it, like the rest of the dummy range. The dummy 86 was a factory mistake, as they were ordered without lights and had them fitted by accident.

I guess as a dummy you're likely to run it in a pair with a 'powered' set, so you can take the dummy car from the 'powered' set, which does have lights, at the outer end. But then DVTs and dummy power cars have them. #confused

Don't be picky!  :P

My dummy voyager diving coaches are permanently coupled together in the middle of my 10 rake. With the lit one from the powered at the back. Technically they are out of order but they never stop in a station for people to notice that!

All voyager driving cars are dummy ones as the motor is in the full coach not the end one anyway.

That's what I meant about having the driving coaches with Lights at the outer ends, but yes forgot with the Dapol ones the motor is in the middle.

Hi,

Thanks for confirming the Super Voyager Dummy set has no lights Alistair. Yeah, I think its the path of least resistance to run the ends of the dummy in the middle of the two sets.

Cheers, Mark.
