Morning all.
Seeing as I had such success with my search for Edwardian figures here (my order was delivered yesterday - well impressed), I thought I'd try another long shot.
Does anyone know where I can get hold of some GCR crests & lettering suitable for A D11 in N?

You can buy a GCR loco set via the 2mm Scale Association, see - http://www.2mm.org.uk/small_suppliers/philsmith/index.htm (http://www.2mm.org.uk/small_suppliers/philsmith/index.htm) . I don't know whether they would be suitable for a D11??

The crest/lettering looks right for the D11 tender and you could cut the crest from the middle of the second set of crests/names to depict the crest on the engine above the drivers. The cab number appears to be a plate on the cab, so you may have to source it separately, but it looks very generic, so unless you're hunting a specific number, it shouldn't be too bad to find one. The name plate you will probably have to have custom made :/
Thanks for the help there chaps but unfortunately I've already emailed Phil Smith three times over the past 18 months or so with no replies. It seems he doesn't need the business :hmmm:
If anyone knows any other sources, I'm all ears.

Vigo,
The 2mm Assoc. site gives you the details of who now distribute the decals and who to make the cheque out to etc. I sent an order +P&P, with a cheque, to S&S some 12 months ago for some wagon decals for my small 2mmFS layout and it all worked fine. I guess the fact that it is now all going through S&S is the clue that Phil is no longer really involved! ;)
Good luck! Nick
Nice to know Gooner, maybe it'd be a good idea for 2mm Assoc. to update their suppliers list then :hmmm:
I'll drop him a line, see if he still does them. The Director looks a bit lost without them. Cheers.

Beautiful photo! Can I ask how you went about the build?
Thanks for the vote of confidence there but I have to admit it's not a build, simply a repainted Union Mills D11 with some old Farish coaches painted up to look like GCR.

:dunce: I should have known that.... Especially since it was on my short list of UM locos to get! If it makes up any for my stupidity, I think you've done an absolutely brilliant job on the repaint and on the lining. Did you use transfers on the lining or did you tape and spray?
