Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone knew the dimensions for the class 08 or class 37 n scale models from any manufacturer. Just want to make sure I'm leaving enough room for them in a plan I'm working on.
Many thanks ;D
I think the general rule for the 08 is that it's 1mm wider than any clearance you do. ;)
A quick check on my Farish 08 show that it's 22m across the pins holding the connecting rod to the wheel but your results may vary.

Many thanks, would you be able to have a look at the length from front to back please? Making a tiny pilot engine holding area and wanted to check if I could fit 1 or 2 engines and play around with those as an extra shunt puzzle
edit: just found a 37 is 125 mm long by 18.4 mm wide
Hattons website often will show a photo with a ruler running alongside the model to indicate the length.
For example: http://www.ehattons.com/107715/Graham_Farish_371_015C_Class_08_Shunter_08672_in_BR_Blue_with_Wasp_Stripes/StockDetail.aspx (http://www.ehattons.com/107715/Graham_Farish_371_015C_Class_08_Shunter_08672_in_BR_Blue_with_Wasp_Stripes/StockDetail.aspx)
I'm sure other sites offer similar views.

Thank you very much! I hire why farish don't have this on their website is confusing!
I'll make the pilot bay 190mm long, that should accommodate both engines if needed

Including couplings the 08 will be approx 70mm long so if you know the class 37 is 125mm long, 190mm probably won't be enough :hmmm:

Just found another excuse to post me favorite pic again!

Just a reminder to Mr Dobilina to make sure he gets the clearance right! ;D

If I have my sources correct a platform edge should be 9mm away from the centre line of the track. I'm at least accounting for 10mm

Well the data I posted earlier for the width of my 08 says 12mm as it's 22m across from connecting rod pin to connecting rod pin.
Just for information. ...
The platform in the photo is curved, and the 08 is ok on the straightish bits.It just doesn't like the curved bits.

I thought about that in the car this morning, such a silly head.
Would a curved platform edge need a greater clearance then?
It will... you need to check it with your longest coaches and widest locos, like the 08.

Need to get more stock in the months ahead. At present my entire collection can be found in the two new links in my signature.
