Title: Graham Farish "Blue Wizard"
Post by: Graham Walters on March 15, 2016, 10:42:30 AM
I've had an e-mail today asking me if I have any of these in stock, or if I purchase any would I give the person a call.

I've never heard of them, can anyone enlighten me, Google seems to be lacking in knowledge as well.

Sorry Bob, I think many moons ago, Graham Farish had a "Blue Wizard" collection, apparently it's written on the box.

The bloke who told me that wasn't 100% sure though.

The only blue thing on a box would be the Blue Riband mark for the higher quality models produced when Bachmann Farish started producing their own designs rather than revamped Poole designs. The mark is essentially dropped now as everything produced is now Blue Riband quality.

Dapol's equivalent was Platinum models. Also now dropped.

Perhaps that is what he meant?

They are also known as Whizzos - Which is probably what the guy meant.

To proper Cornish Railwaymen they are "thousands" though ;)
