I have the same problem with my glassed.  At the moment though I'm wearing my train room glasses because
I'm in the living room and can't find my living room glasses!

Only two tape measures ???  :laughabovepost:

I have so many, I actually have no idea of the true quantity... at least two for the garage, 1 in the caravan, 1 for the green house, one for the shed, one in the living room, 1 in the tool box, 1 in each car..... it goes on...

But in this house they all end up in the wife's handbag, and she not even allowed in the garage!!!!

I keep a small six footer in a trouser pocket, 2 longer ones get left where ever they're last used.

In my case, the same applies to virtually every tool.
What's upstairs needs to be downstairs and vice versa.
Or , what's needed indoors is in the shed and vice versa.
Keeps me fit though!

The only tape measure I have ever known to not get lost is my mate's original LD&ECRly chain length surveyor's tape - That is kept safe, though it does sometimes get used :)

I get the same but with phones, I live in a 3 storey town house and when on my own here it does not matter where I am, the phone rings and is not where I am. I sit in the spare room, my modelling room and the phone is downstairs ringing. I sit in front of the tv downstairs and I have left the phone in the spare room!  aaargh!!!

Best wishes
Simon

While not having much use for tape measures (they vanish BTW, as some have already noted), I DO have difficulties with N-scale rulers.  My 'weapon of choice' is the Peco N-scale ruler, but, although I own two of these items they  have a very unusual ability in that they can 'vanish in plain sight' and reappear in either another location within the house, or even on another day - and ALWAYS after the 'need' for their services has passed...

This does seem to be very odd and inexplicable  behaviour for what is supposedly an inanimate piece of aluminium...

No idea how / why these rulers accomplish this, but submitted for what it may be worth...

Can someone tell me where I put the glue I bought the other week?

Yeah, I know what you all mean here. I lost/misplaced something just yesterday. If I could just remember what it was, I might have a chance at finding it!

Yeah, what he said, just a single word is all you need, so I'm just gonna say one word and one word only. Wall wart. There that's it, I'm sure the blurry things have legs. No bleating on from me, short, succinct and to the point. Anything else is a waste of time, so just the one word only - wall wart. There, I have nothing else to add, it's the one for charging my small electric screwdriver. But I won't go on about it, just to say the one word, wall wart.

Found it! The glue, not Zogbert's wallwart, that is.

Which demonstrates a different but related issue, namely being unable to remember what you are looking for actually looks like. Was searching ages for my pin vise once, only to find it stowed neatly in the tool stand, the evil blighter.

I actually found the screwdriver charger today (while looking for something else I have misplaced)!
Any ideas where I might have put the screwdriver?

Same here three storey town house, cunning plan as have a 'Quad' set of DEC phone handsets... however there are usually at least two if not three sat next to each other in a location not currently being used when the phone rings!!

I have always found putting things away when i have finished them is the best way of losing them. The best way of finding something is to give up and buy another, the original will be waiting for you when to put the new one away.

I always mislay  my TV remote control, even lost it about 10 seconds after using it,
they should make them about the size of a cricket bat and painted orange rather
than like a little bar of chocolate.

Maybe attaching the errant remote control to a sticky wicket might help.

I'm sure there are poltergeist in our house. For instance, while replacing a socket, I can sit on the floor, unscrew the fixing screws, pull it out, release the terminal screws, put the screwdriver down, open the pack containing the new socket and - despite not moving from my seated position - when I am ready to connect the new socket, the screwdriver is on the opposite side of the room. It happens every time!
