Title: Farish Class 91
Post by: Clapford Junction on February 16, 2016, 08:05:31 PM
Hello everybody,
Just wondering very simply ,before I consider purchasing it, whether the Graham Farish Class 91 (GNER) can be converted to DCC in any way, and if so, does anybody know somebody who will be able to do this for me?
Thanks very much,
Matt

Apparently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_tvlB9uhuQ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_tvlB9uhuQ)

If it's anything like the 87, space may need to be milled out of the chassis. At least that's the case in the 87 I have which happens to be DCC fitted; I don't use DCC so there may be more qualified answers.

People speak highly of Wickness Models (https://www.wicknessmodels.co.uk/).

Hi Matt
This really is an easy conversion, I've done a few.
If you were local to my club I would happily do it for you. If not then I am sure we can arrange something. You can PM me.
Cheers
Kirky

Kit Wall currently has another 91 of mine he is chipping. I can gladly give you his contact details, he charges a very fair price! :D
Kindest Regards
Philip

Shall supply once they next batch of locos arrives from him, he is currently chipping five of them! He uses a gaugemaster chip (the DCC22 I believe) I shall check on the invoice. The chips cost £25 on ebay and he charges £30 to fit them (this includes the Decoder!)
A link to the website can be found here: http://www.tynedaletrains.co.uk/servicing-and-dcc-fitting/ (http://www.tynedaletrains.co.uk/servicing-and-dcc-fitting/)
Hope this helps!
Phil
