R I P Sir Terry Wogan aged 77 after a short illness :'( :'(
He will be missed by most I should think but especially Children in
Need
I well remember his time on radio 2, going way back when he had the banter with Jimmy Young and then with Ken Bruce. Really good autobiography too. He was Mr Children in Need as you say Jon and he will be sorely missed by many, especially the current Mrs Wogan :D
He was my favourite to wake up to with my radio alarm. Very gentle humour.
I remember Wogans Winner ( I think it`s still running! )
Driving all over the country, (working at stations who would take the train!) I became a devotee of "Wake up to Wogan" so many hilarious moments. An example when playing the new record by Dido his comment was Ahh!!! Dickie.
Rest in Peace Tell.
Given his legion of fans, I'm wondering whether the "Floral Dance" will get to No.1 ... :hmmm:
He'll be missed ...
One of the best DJs and presenters for many years he will be sorely missed.
Been watching some of the videos in YouTube of him telling his 'Janet and John' stories from his Sunday show - watching him crease up while trying to read them out is priceless!
While the residents on Earth are sad, :( the residents of wherever it is that he has gone to will be laughing their socks off!
His last programme , driving about Britain trying out different food with a corblimey cabbie was
pretty good , full of his quirky humour.

I don't think it ever ran ;D I think they usually ambled round, but it was typical of the man to come up with things like that. And you are right about the Janet & John stuff Paul, hilarious stuff.
So many memories of a tremendous broadcaster.
Don't Forget "Blankety Blank" :) :)
Best regards,
Joe
2016 , with all the musicians popping their clogs - thieve now goat a MC :D
Mr. Wogan pulled up alongside our car in a traffic queue on the motorway one time. My (then) very young daughters were very excited to see someone they recognised from television so up-close. He opened the window and said hello to them both, asked their names and chatted for a moment before the hold up cleared and we all moved on. He didn't have to, but he did, and in such a nice and charming way. We have lost a really decent guy.
Motorway? Cones? Remember him doing that feature on the morning show?
Thanks for all of it Terry.....
More sad news. He certainly was a Britsh icon for a long time. I even remember him from the days before I moved to Australia, and that was in 1974!
Without a doubt he has to be one of my all time favorite broadcasters, his unique wit made the eurovision song contest funny and almost watchable!
A person I have enjoyed so much listening to and watching on TV pretty much all the years since my teens.
R.I.P Sir Terry.
After David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Cecil Parkinson, Glenn Frey, Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister....... It's quite a sobering January.
I lost my father to cancer 12 weeks ago, so my sincere thoughts and best wishes go to all their families. I'm going through the pain of bereavement myself right now.
Condolences all round.
The 'spectacle' of his radio fireworks display on 5th November was so good that I nearly crashed the car!
A great talent gone!

I had forgotten that one... Then there was Mrs Mckay with her shovel in the snows of Scotland and not to forget Chuffer Dandridge and his white fiver... The day the Ginger Winger took over Tell's radio 2 slot I stopped listening to the BBC.
He had folks counting bollards on the road in the 80's made me laugh.
RIP Sir Terry Wogan.
any one remember his 100 ft putt on pro celeb golf ????
