Seems to be an obscure reference  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Ramsey#.22The_Ramsey_effect.22)to a football player who scores shortly before someone famous dies ...

Dale will be sadly missed by all his family, I went to school with one of his sisters, and my wifes Aunt is also a sister, his passing has been expected for a little while, alzeimers claims them all in the end, no matter how hard they fight.

I grew up knowing Dale, he was 8 years older than me, but never forgot his roots, he could often be seen strolling around Ross on Wye even at the height of his fame, the locals just accepted him as local lad made good. He was aso good to his fans, no matter how often the requests, if you were a local lad and sent him a picture of you playing drums, you could guarantee that by return of post a pair of Dales used but signed sticks would be on their way.

I remember well when the band recorded "All the young dudes" ( ironically written by Bowie), Christine brought  a copy into school, it was in a plain white cover, we played it endlessy on the 6th Form player, we knew it would be a hit, after that we got to hear all their albums before they were released, we liked to think that we were the test audience !

RIP Dale, music and the people of Ross will miss you.
