Title: what to put in the CMX clean machine?
Post by: cragster101 on January 04, 2016, 04:01:22 PM
Hi all, I was looking around the forum to see what people think of the CMX clean machine and I noticed that some people put something called "ISO" inside. At the moment my cleaning is done with IPA (isopropyl alcohol) sprayed onto a cloth which is rubbed over the track and left for 15 mins. Is iso short for isopropyl alcohol or is it something else? I have found a fairly detailed PDF on this showing a variety of things to put inside but Its for multiple scales and given the price I thought it would be best to check for N gauge specifically in case I make a costly mistake.

Never put in WD40 :D

No - it takes ages to fill that tank from the little tube ::)

Seriously - don't let WD40 anywhere near your layout/stock!
