Title: Oops... Help?!
Post by: pape_timmo on December 23, 2015, 02:35:57 PM
Oh dear,

I've managed to upset SWMBO,she asked a while ago what I wanted for Christmas, so I sent her links to the Brighton Belles on Hornby. Well, Rails had them on the advent calendar for £89.99 so I ordered one. It's just turned up, and she's gone Radio Rental that I've ordered it, coz she got me one...,

Oh dear, how do I explain that 2 is better than one?

Cheers, Timmo

Oh, dear - you're not going to win this one.  It's going to cost you more in flowers, chocolates and candlelit dinners than you saved.

Still - at least you have two Brighton Belles.

If it becomes a real problem, you will probably get more on Ebay than you paid for the second one.

I was about to say :-
That is easily explained,  yours to her for Xmas, and her order is to you for Xmas, simple, so you can have joint running sessions

BUT, if 1 is 00 and the other N, ohhh crumbs !!, and they tell me the NHS is a bit pushed at the mo.
Good luck.

Errr ..... ..... .....  ???

How about "That lovely one from you I'll run around my layout, and it will always remind me of how much you love me; that other one is just so I can sell later at a profit & buy you something extra for your birthday" ?

Yeah, I know ... crawling ... but hey, you put yourself in that position  :D

I was thinking you could always tell her they ran in 10 coach sets and bless her tremendous thought in getting you the extra set required but then I got to the 00 bit
I guess you'll have to return or sell the 00 set and buy your good lady something :hmmm:

Lol, thanks Nobby, I was thinking the same. It's just cost me £130 for a new ring for her this afternoon...

Right, phone call tomorrow to find out Rails return policy...

Cheers for the advice folks  :thankyousign:

Cheers, Timmo

Under distance selling regulations you have a legal right to return the goods within 14 days (You need to have contacted the shop within this time to say you are doing so, you do not actually have to return the goods within the 14 days, you've a few days more than that to allow for postage times).

Thanks for that advice, they were closed today, open again on Tuesday so I'll call them then.

Lesson learned... Alternate address, and darkness.
