as an ex RAF Police Dog Handler I should have known better than to get involved when my 2 year old Husky Oscar, and my daughters one year old shepherd / husky cross Skye got tangled up while having one of their play fights, but Oscar had his lower jaw inside her collar, and was trapped, and they were both getting stressed as they couldn't separate.
so I stepped in and managed to separate them, but in doing so received a nasty bit from Skye who was in real panic mode.
washed the blood off, me that is, disinfected and dressed the three wounds, and left them by now fast asleep under the dining room tsble to head to casualty at the local hospital, PRH at Haywards Heath.
less than an hour and a half later I was on my way home, having been booked in by a very pleasant receptionist, triaged by a great male nurse, seen and had my wounds, and injured ego, dressed by a nurse practioner, who also brought me up to date with my tetnus jab.

I am lucky that I have very little to do with either my local surgery, or hospital, but just had too say how GOOD my experience of the NHS was.
the dogs ? still fast asleep when I got home. no biscuits for them tonight :veryangry:
I have to say my experiences of the Princess Royal at Haywards Heath have been similarly positive (not that I have bothered them much, thankfully). My stepson used to be accident-prone when he was a kid and we always used to cut out the middleman and take him straight to A&E. It got ridiculous when we took him up there one time and a nurse said "Last time you were here you were in Cub uniform!!"
