Title: Gaugemaster - Impressive service
Post by: Lawrence on November 28, 2015, 03:49:50 PM
One of my Gaugemaster Model D controllers mysteriously developed a fault on the Track 1 output, my initial suspicions were either a broken connector or dry joint inside the box, a simple fix had the box not been riveted together.
So I phoned Gaugemaster and explained the issue, I was also quite clear the unit was a couple of years old.  No problem it would appear, send it back with a note and some contact details and they would inspect it.
So I posted off last week (from work coz it's cheaper  ;) ), I got into work on Friday having been away all week, and there was a box from Gaugemaster  with my repaired controller inside, all done free of charge.
Really impressed with the service and turnround time and it is nice to be able to say that these days when so often the opposite is true.

A good service but all Gaugemaster controllers carry a lifetime warranty.
As I didn't know whether that was the controller or me, my main layout controller is a Morley :laugh:

Must admit I didn't know they had a lifetime warranty, nevertheless the turnround time was still pretty good  :D

Resurrecting an old(ish) thread to say that I was aware of Gaugemaster's lifetime warranty, and today I received back my Model DS of over 20 year vintage which had been repaired free of charge by the service team.

Parcel was sent on Friday 24th and DHL tired to deliver it back to me exactly 1 week later. I arranged to pick it up from a shop that was opened late and collected it on the way home from work this evening.

According to the return note, a single "pot" (capacitor?) had blown.

I am especially happy about this as it means I get to keep the DS which is a previous design standard, new ones are different and I happen to prefer mine.

Well done Gaugemaster  :thumbsup:

A pot is a potentiometer (variable resistor alias volume control ;-}
