Title: SWMBO
Post by: Graham Walters on October 23, 2015, 11:08:33 AM
I have to say first of all that my owner is a lovely woman, she keeps me clothed and feeds me at regular intervals, but she does have a few annoying habits.

After 33 years I am still the boss in our house and Ive got SWMBOs permision to say that HaHaHa.
But I love her lots and lots .Without her we wouldn't be where we are and have what we've got ,she is absolutly Magic with money ,we have never been in debt we have never had a credit card ,we've paid the mortgage of early and own every thing we've got Weve got three grown up kids and now two grandchildren
I've only got half the stock I want but got twice as much as I really need but I've got her and wouldn't change her for the world.
And I really mean that.

In my house I'm the boss all the time she says I am.

I also have a list. I've still not finished the last job. I will get round to it. There's no need to remind me every six months or so.

Mine is tolerant generous and supportive. She knows I am passionate about my hobby and never complains about it. She comes to exhibitions with me and shows an interest. Rarely complains when 10 mins in my modelling room turns into hours....

Lists for me? Nope only shopping lists and for things we need to get done together, no timescales no suggestion ever that they have to be done first, just done.

Wouldn't change a thing about her..

Im at Eurospoor for five days, Lora is supportive and tollerant however I only have one railway working night each week which I guess keeps the balance!
If I had to choose between the two Id rather be happy with the mrs than a sad old man with a few toys :)

Ban him Chris ....... he said the T word .... :D

Were we ever ON topic seeing as it's not exactly a serious discussion? ;) Undecided whether to move it to the 'Jokes' section.

OK back on topic... I have a good relationship with my wife but do not discuss it on a model railway forum.

Don't know why anyone would...?

Yep, jokes section.

I think the topic is about wife's support of our eccentricities as model railway enthusiasts.

Incidentally if the late and much missed Andy Calvert could refer to Moorcock Junction as his "train set" then it puts it into suitable perspective for me. I can't get upset if people say I'm playing trains or they are my "toys" but ironically perhaps, it's something my wife never does do.

Yes Joke Section , It's a joke if any man thinks he is the boss in his own house ,every one knows the wife is always the boss .and to be fair I'm glad she is .then if things go wrong it's her fault, even then I get the blame.
The only real time I'm the boss is on a Wednesday Evening running session down in my world ,IE in the shed at the bottom of the garden where We operate my layout.
Alright we play trains

You make it sound like that is an exclusive option!!  I am sure it is perfectly feasible to be a happy old man with a few toys...or even a happy old man with a mrs and lots of toys.
