Title: Recruitment!
Post by: polo2k on December 07, 2011, 09:35:44 AM
HI all,

I just spotted a post where someone mentioned "the business card worked then". not sure of the context of this comment, however it did spur a train of thought.

Would it be possible for us to all club together and pool our ideas to make an N gauge forum flyer. This could be somewhere between the size of a business card, to a comp slip. IT should grab peoples attention, describe the forum succinctly and encourage them to visit and hopefully register.

These could be made available on the front of exhibition layouts (at shows), dropped into local model shops, or just handed out to friends.

the benefits to the forum are multiple. Firstly, more members means a busier forum with more going on, this in turn increases the value of adverts placed for advertisers (more people will see them) and this in turn should help the forum grow and evolve.

I thought something as simple as

but without the "welcome" line, then a simple statement such as; Small on scale, big on enjoyment.

What does anyone think?

The context was that a new member joined the forum because of a business card at an exhibition.  :)

This is the current card that we are using....

I'd like to get more items, like the flyers you suggested made, as we have two traders who are very willing to help by having them on their stalls, and members who kindly hound people and give them out! :D

Flyers would be a great idea - how about a downloadable version that i could print off and hand out to mates etc.
Most of the model shops in my area are not very N gauge savvy and are in need of training - a flyer could help !
