Title: Anybody know A & H models of Northants.
Post by: Tdm on September 25, 2015, 02:11:30 PM
Just discovered their website and some of their prices for locomotives seem cheaper than Hattons!

My loco stock is currently a mixture of Farish, Dapol, and Union Mills, and I have no Kato engines but quite like the look of the Kato Class 77 "Catrail" - how well are they made and run?.

Kato locos are dearer than the others, but not by all that much as if you knock the VAT off A & H are asking just £107 for the 77, whereas Hattons are quoting £140 inclusive of VAT.

Excellent DCC stock, support and knowledge, usually at competitive prices. One of my first stops along with Coastal DCC.

A&H Models is THE place to go for used locomotives.

Young Chris is THE man with the knowledge!

It is only literally down the road from me (12 miles) so if I need something in a hurry I would always go there first!

Peter.

They are continental model specialists & have good stocks. Good friendly service & shop, Chris is very knowledgeable. They will order in items for you. It is worth checking out their website for the best deals. Some models are very competitively priced, some not so. Recommended.

Roger.

Only came across them recently whilst looking for a new motor for my Fleischmann turntable as it came up as being in stock on their website.  Contacted them via email and received a prompt reply that it was indeed in stock, placed order and received a few days later, very satisfied customer excellant service.

Great little shop, and quite local to me and even better when I'm working in and about the Northampton area :doh:Not kind on my wallet though.

Purchased quite a few locos and stock for my German goings on over the years. Had some great second hand from their too. Helen and Chris are very friendly and helpful.

Thumbs up from me

Cheers, Anthony
