I have just received a message from Graham Hedges that his father has been in hospital and unfortunately has just died.
I feel sure that almost everyone will want to present him with their condolences.
Peter.
Very sorry to hear the news it's never a nice thing and as Peter says I'm sure we all send our condolences .
It's never nice when this happens, and I echo Bobs comments here.
Cheers
Dave
Sorry to hear your sad news, Graham. Wishing you strength at this very difficult time.
Mark
Sincere condolences from here, too. Sad news, whenever it comes.

Deepest sympathies from me too. All of the best during this difficult time.
Very sad news to hear.
Just to let members know, Mr Hedges isn't a member on this forum, so probably won't see your messages.
Umm . . . he used to be, and apparently still is.

Seems he was banned from here, for some reason?
Silly for folks to post condolences here, if that is so.

Even if not a member almost the entire Forum is viewable to anyone as a "guest" so the gesture would not be entirely pointless.
I am sure that many "silly folks" (me included albeit I didn't see this to pass on my condolences) were not aware that Grahame was "banned" or for whatever other reason ceased to be a member. He was a member here for a fair while I feel sure??
Regards
Roy

Not long ago the donations were being redirected to someone of whom I have no knowledge whatsoever, BUT it wasn't important.
Just like this it is another human being who is suffering from the loss of a loved one.
If it is that terrible then why bother replying negatively?
If it were my worst enemy I couldn't possibly imagine just ignoring the fact that his/her family is suffering, my condolences would be open handed, ALWAYS ready to welcome back a fellow human regardless of his/her convictions.
Many will say that I am wrong but why should I care, it is after all only another human being!
Grahame Hedges is a complete unknown to me, the ONLY dealings I have had with him have been good/interesting/debatable etc. but any failings are far outweighed by the good things.
There are those on this forum and on the other Twelve that I support whose opinions/lifestyle/messages etc. make me cringe but I MUST accept them for who they are not what I want them to be.
(Steps down from soapbox)
Peter.
My apologies, for using perhaps the wrong term. 'Silly' was not appropriate, perhaps 'pointless' would have been better.
My point was that Mr. Hedges would not see said condolences. I read the news here, but sent my condolence message direct to him, since I knew he was not on this forum any longer.
He can be prickly, and he and I have had differences, in the past, yet I admire his taking on the NGS Journal, and have admired his skills as a modeller.
Obviously, something he said or did has gotten him banned from this forum.

As are as I remember, Graham wasn't banned. He had some disagreements and decided to leave.
According to Grahame, he stayed away from the forum for about a year, his choice. When he did decide to log on, he found he was banned. His explanation, on the Yahoo N Gauge list.

I hope I will be forgiven for returning this thread to topic but, having lost my own father a few years ago, I know how Grahame must be feeling, regardless of whether he was 'banned' or just 'left'.
My sympathies and thoughts are with him and his family; you are in pain now, but believe me, that passes and only happy thoughts remain.
Regards,
Greg

Can you provide a link to this list?
There are two sides to a story of course. ;) He didn't stay away from the forum for a year, but was in fact not posting for 18 months after being upset, but continued logging on. I have no problem with that.
I don't ban anyone on here without a reason, and rarely have to. I won't go into details as that's between Grahame and myself to sort out if he so wishes. I'm always approachable as many of you would know.
The below link is for the Yahoo N Gauge group. One must have a Yahooo account to join.
