Post by: Caz on August 13, 2015, 08:02:35 PM
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.

Just heard on the news that Stephen Lewis aka Blakey of "On the Buses" died yesterday, thanks for giving me so many laughs, RIP.

(5 dings, emergency stop, was a clippie for a couple years).

Never liked On the Buses much but I remember the actor and I liked him better than Reg Varney.

Reg Varney was OK, my dad served him a few times in Halfords, Enfield Town and said he was quite chatty and down to earth :)

He also officially opened Britian's first cash machine at Barclays Bank in Enfield Town - my local bank for years :D

IIRC he also appeared in Last of the Summer wine, in the later series.
