'twere a quiet day on the forum,
'ardly no one were makin' a post,
When I heard a strange noise from me layout.
It were Maggie, and Dr.'B's' ghost!
Now, you ask the great British public,
You'll get answers of love and of 'ate,
So I fired up a loco and chased 'em,
Round t' baseboard, one to one-forty-eight.
As I chased them around I were thinkin',
Of the way that things once used to be.
There were up lines and down lines, British Railways it were,
Now it's Stobart and Virgin ye'll see.
Now, for me, I don't know if it's better,
Now for me, I don't know if it's worse.
But I do know, for sure, that it's different,
Is it blessings? Or is it a curse?
We used to have 'undreds of stations,
In every small village an' town.
Now some 'ave been turned into 'ouses,
An' some have been simply pulled down.
I cranked the knob, on me controller,
Round the layout I chased both their ghosts.
Then I woke up and though, "I were dreamin'!".
"Look out forum... Ye're getting a post!"
