Title: RIP George Cole
Post by: daveg on August 06, 2015, 01:00:09 PM
I've just learned that George Cole has died at the grand age of 90.

Always a pleasure to watch him, from the early St Trinian movies to cameo parts just like the one I'm watching right now - an Agatha Christie story where his character dies of 'a heart attack'.

Playing right to the end, George!

Well done old chap!

How sad to hear of the death of George Cole ,He come to open a model show at Stoke  Mandeville not the Risborough Club show but a general model show with all types of models there was  ten layouts and he spent at least 20 minutes operating my small N gauge layout and said that he really enjoyed himself he was a very nice guy very down to earth , still got the photos somewhere.

A wonderful actor who'll be sorely missed :(
I'll never forget in 'Minder' when he and Terry filled some rotten wings on a Jaguar with mud and then painted them over. 2 weeks later the bloke who'd bought it returned with weeds growing from the wings ;D
