I have now created 3 seperate videos of a recent trip made to Norway and uploaded them to YouTube. They are titled : - Norway Part 1, Norway Part 2, and Norway Part 3.
I may yet re-edit them to make them a little shorter, but if you wish to take a look at them now they are as follows :-
The 1st contains purely still images taken on board the Fred Olsen Liner "Balmoral", and at ports of call Stavanger and Bergen.
The 2nd is devoted entirely to Flam and the Flamsbana railway and contains both still images and camcorder footage.
The 3rd contains both images and video footage and features Olden and Fjord cruising.

Unfortunatly there were problems with my previous YouTube uploads and they were too long.
I have re-done the Norwegain Holiday video footage and the new Links appear below.
The 2nd video is the one that features the Flamsbana Railway trip.

So far I have only seen your first film, but loved every minute of it. It brought back some very happy memories (and not just of 1018 - although it was good of them to make it a Swindon Western! ;)) but seriously my first trip to beautiful Norway was when I was 12 (my 13th birthday in Stavanger) and that was with Fred Olsen.
We have been back many times since, and always enjoyed it.
Now for your other films.
Thanks for sharing. :thankyousign:
P/S Having seen all 3 now I must say it has been a bad move on my part - even though I am watching them from my own home I feel 'homesick' for that lovely country. It makes me want to return; I haven't been since 2012. :'(
When you were in the railway museum did you see that fabulous telegram about the engine shed fire? I loved the description of the flames causing a lovely rosy glow on the snow topped mountains!
Thanks for those vids. Nice reminders. We went around the Baltic on Balmoral. Very friendly ship. Got the singing waiters treatment! 40th wedding.
Did similar Norway trip (P&O) to yours earlier this year when less snow had melted. I was impressed by the power of the Flamsbana locos. Although it's visibly a steep line, they have so much oomph they make it seem flat.
Cheers
Clive

We were told by the locals that we had come at the best time to see the waterfalls, as they had had a cold May with the snow only now (July) melting creating lots of strong and powerful waterfalls.
My wife and I prefer smaller cruise liners, and the Norway trip was the 1st time on Fred OLsen's "Balmoral", but to be honest we thought it wasn't as nice a ship as the smaller Fred Olsen "Braemar" which we have sailed on twice before now, and are booked on it again in October when it is in Tenerife.
As regards the question about the Flam railway museum, no I didn't see the report about the fire, but if we go again will look for it. Thoroughly enjoyed our 1st ever visit to Norway.
