So did a search after seeing posts and wondered whether it might help others who suffer of it to combine it as a separate searchable post. You can seem my post in the "warm enough" thread at post number 84.
The first sign I get of it is difficulty breathing through my nose for suspended periods and my chest is very wheezy, then nose blocked but uncontrollable watery snot combined with blocked ears (have to manually pop them every few mins). Then it goes on to uncontrollable sneezing fits, I'd call this10+ in succession every 10-20 mins or so.
For me it always seems to get my left eye first and it waters like hell, like getting a bit of grit thrown in it. Then the roof of my mouth has an absolutely uncontrollable itch which brings on the uncontrollable sneezing fits. It's no fun when you sneeze 10-20 times each time, then again in a few mins. Rib cage and back / throat hurts, least of all if it happens every few mins you worry about other body functions you always have to remember to clench first.
It's actually worse for me when it's hot then rains -I am 100% convinced the rain knocks the pollen off the buds / trees then pollutes the air and explains why I'm always worse following hot weather and rain.
I take medication though luckily not the heavy doses I was on a few years ago when my allergy was debilitating but having thought I'd grown out of it in my late 20's it's now creeping back in my late 30's!

I broke down and got a shot of Kenalog this year and have been doing fine.
Thanks , Mike
I've suffered for years and am lucky that most years I can control it with cetirizine hydrochloride bought from home bargains (79p for two weeks course). I can't take anything stronger without having to go off work.
That said, I have really suffered this year and as you say it's worse after some rain.
Nettle tea helps! Pick some leaves off stinging nettles. Bring to boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Then drink a little bit every day. Not the best tasting beverage but it helped me!

I think you forgot the sugar ? ;D
+1 (or +2) for the cetirizine, but sometimes I need two a day of the 1-a-day type (1 in morning 1 at night)
You can also eat them (boiled, simmered or sautéd ) as a veg.
or even raw-ish ! Yes, really ! but first waft the leaves, on their stems, briefly in the flames of your camp fire or bbq, (does not need long, just a moment in the flames) discard the bits of stem near your hand that did not go through the flames ! This destroys the minute sharp hairy daggers that inject the stinging stuff.
Thus you eat all the plant not wasting any of it.
Not the most exciting of plants, else we would all be doing it all the time , like cabbage and carrots and things
