As an off-shoot of "What are you listenin to right now"
This week for no apparent reason, my brain is stuck on Dirty Laundry - Don Henley
"Kick em when they're up , kick em when they're down"

Don't know the song but do know about the songs that go round in your head. How do you get them to go away - however nice they may be!!!
:beers:

Listen to something more annoyingly catchy? There's some pop song from th
Eighties with whistling that im trying to avoid thinking about too hard.
Luckily I don't know The title or artist.. :D
This is known as an ear worm :D
Recently heard about some research that chewing gum is able to help "remove" an ear worm.
AKA Music Squirrel...because it keeps running around inside your head and making you nuts.

How do get the gum in/out of your ears?
:)

Simply think about the Sheila's Wheels advert; guaranteed to usurp your current earworm.
I've found the best way to get rid of an earworm is to sing it out loud (ideally when there's no one else around in my case...). Or to sing something else. I've found Yellow Submarine works well most of the time. ;D
All together now - "We all live..."
That will probably get me thrown off the forum!

Don Henley-on-Thames, to give him his full name..........
...........He's related to Terence Trent-Water-Authority
is it like old fashioned music?

Good Lord yes - It doesn't get much more old fashioned
His lyrics are in Latin
Ear worms? Nil illigitimus carborundum...
(ask yer old Latin teacher - or Googleing might work).....
The Banana Splits song is my personal guaranteed ear worm remover. Clears out the ear worm and doesn't stick.
However experiments have found that with some people it just replaces their ear worm with itself.

Er - nowt wrong with the Eagles mind, or their constituent parts - especially Don Henley and Joe Walsh.
He used to have a side project (backing band) called the Eagles or something. 8)
Before my time, but when they split up twas like Zane Malik leaving One Direction !!!!!
(But in black and white) :D

I only do four strings so Timothy Schmidt is my man....
Getting back to the topic, mine today is the riff from Catherine Wheel with "I Want to Touch You", from about 20secs. to about 33 secs in:

Helps keep the pedals turning on a training ride.
RedNex "Cotton Eye Joe". I don't know why. But it is firmly entrenched between my ears and it won't go away. :help:
For some reason, I don't know why I've got the B side of the 1960's Fireball theme stuck in my head. It's called "I'm all alone again". Hav'nt heard it for years so I can't think why!

Would that be "theme from a silent movie" by the late great underestimated Hurricane Smith ?
That would be 1970s, and the music was the theme song for a West Midlands radio station's sports programme presented by Tony Butler.
Best regards,
Joe
