'The missus' (derived from Mrs, obviously) is "creeping, benevolent sexism"... really? Is it sexist when the ladies refer to their husbands as "my man", "the hubby" or whatever... are we blokes offended by that?

And as for the other terms, "my goddess", "my Princess"... You're not actually a deity and I severely doubt that you're of royal descent. You are, if you're a married female, a Mrs. So that is actually more accurate. Unless of course you're so insecure of yourself that the very reminder of your gender insults you.

Just another article showing how militant feminists are ever so slightly insane.

Well, my 'missus' doesn't mind me using the term, and I don't mind being referred to as her 'hubby'. So please don't tell us that we're insulting eachother.

I guess it just all confirms why I am single ::)
These fanatics are all over us for our terms of endearment while elderly ladies in this area repeatedly call me 'love', 'darling' etc.
Either that or they are so hard up they're actually trying to pull :uneasy:

The article is a load of poppycock in my opinion, I'm certainly not offended by the word "missus", I used to call my ex "my 'ol man" so I suppose that would now be classed as sexist.

As for the quote above, now that I do find offensive.   :veryangry:

You card is marked Steve.   ;)

Its a strange world we live in . Women think it's ok to be offended by a joke of which they are the butt but probobly laugh at the sort of card which proclaims such as " grow your own dope- plant a man " or " if we can send a man to the moon why can't  we send them all?"

I reckon you've hit my feminine side, Steve. I found those funny

Interesting because I find a statement like 'grow your own dope - plant a man' to be offensive.

So what is going on Steve? You have a man finding an anti man joke funny and a female finding an anti man joke  offensive. Doesn't quite fit with your stereotypes does it  ;)

I personally think this thread should be closed before more offensive remarks are made. Whilst there is an air of "banter" in many of the posts, there is an aggressive sub-text creeping in and it would be a shme to allow that to develop.
Mods, please.
Thanks, Bill.

That might be a good idea Bill!

I think the original article was written to discuss how ridiculous the modern world can be that perhaps sometimes we perhaps need to take a breath and look at the bigger picture.

Some of the comments left beneath the article made me laugh!
