Title: Availability of ATM bogies
Post by: Jim Martin on May 28, 2015, 03:51:14 PM
Does anyone know where I could get hold of ATM bogies? Specifically I'm after 2 pairs of the ESC-1 bogies, preferably with NEM pockets. I've tried the NGS shop, Osborn's, N-Trains and others but I can't find anyone who has them in stock. Any ideas?

I am supposed to be getting some stock shortly. There has been a problem with blackened wheelsets.

That's interesting. Are these sold through your eBay shop, or is there an alternative?

Going off-topic a bit, are you likely to have any more Dennis Darts?

Hello Jim,

I am pretty sure Bernard has the mouldings in stock.  The problem, as Bob said, is that the company that used to blacken wheelsets for Romford (and, in turn, Parkside Dundas, the NGS etc) is no longer doing this - either they have closed, or decided they don't want such small-fry business - and so the last lot of wheels we ordered arrived in shiny metal.  We were not happy with this, but so far have been unable to locate an alternative thought Bernard has been looking at other options.

If you have wheels and would be OK with mouldings only we should be able to help with these.  I have used the bogies with Farish wheelsets successfully, even though the cone angle on the pin-point is slightly different.

cheers

Ben A.
