Title: Peco ELC Vs NEM Claryfication needed
Post by: Biggy on May 19, 2015, 09:16:54 PM
So I would like to see if I am correct here. To replace ELC couplings with Dapol easy shunt My understanding is that you need a conversion kit as NEM couplers will not plug into the Peco pocket.

Is that correct?

Sorry if I am being a bit slow but I have read a number of threads and it is not directly stated.  :confused2:

Yes, you need the Dapol kit and remove the existing Peco pocket and coupler.  I've only change the couplers at either end of a rake to save some work.   ;)

Thanks I thought that was the case. I am also doing the same. Just planning to change some strategic wagons so may be able to avoid the Peco ones except for the "toad". The hardest bit will be the older Locos I think
