Title: Films
Post by: steve836 on May 14, 2015, 10:59:49 AM
I have just posted a reply a topic regarding Spanish trains and that reminded me that I have several films (standard 8mm) that I took of railway subjects. Does anyone know of a company, or individual who could transpose them onto a DVD for me and how much would it cost?

There are a few companies that do this, often advertise in photo mags etc, or
you could google" transfer 8mm to dvd". A  while back it cost about £15-£20
and they also did VHS transferring.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the Paddington Bear movie. Watched it down in Tasmania.  Awesome!

Regarding 8mm to digital, we have mobs in Australia that do it and charge like wounded bulls.

It's a lot of stuffing around, but it is possible to do it yourself...... depends on how keen, you are, I guess.

It's not just a matter of keenness! One I wouldn't know where to begin, also over the years I have lost the projecter so can,t even watch the films.

Yep, that could do it... you do need to be able to project 'em!

You could always do what I did.... borrow a projector.... which I guess is not so easy these days unless you have mates as old as me  :'( ;)
