When using chrome, my Windows 7 PC has downloaded a file f.txt a couple of times without any request from me. I've done a search on line and many others have seen this file but cannot establish what it is. Malwarebytes and BitDefender don't seem too alarmed about its presence so I'm not too worried.
Anyone have any knowledge or comments about this
Ta Muchly! :thankyousign:
So nothing to worry about then?
Is it fixed now, do you know? :beers:

Do you ever delete all temporary files? That's the best way to clean up your system. Use CCleaner or similar.
Frequently - I use System Mechanic.
Not sure what that has to do with this f.txt file though?

It has been suggested that some temp files cause an issue. Google "f.txt" with quotes you'll find lots of info on it.
:)
Oh.. OK thanks for that.
:beers:

Thanks for enlightening me Railwaygun... That's exactly what I thought when it downloaded by itself. :)
Simple answer is to use Firefox, then you can set a prompt that will ask you before you download any file
